EXCELLENT WITH DISTINCTION!

Welcome to the Jefferson Junior High website. We are an all-8th grade building with about 530 students. We are so proud of our students, parents and staff. Our school has been rated Excellent with Distinction by the State of Ohio. That is the highest honor the state can rate a school.

This year will be filled with many changes and new experiences for our students. Through our experience we have found out that moving to 8th grade is a big transition. Our teachers and staff work hard to make this a smooth transition. We are not just preparing our students to be successful for the 8th grade but getting them ready for their big step up to Whitmer High School. Our staff is committed to making this a rewarding and successful year for all of our kids

Jefferson Junior High offers a rigorous curriculum that follows the state content standards and is relevant and challenging for our students. Each student will be placed in a core subject and will receive instruction in, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. In addition, each student will be offered elective classes in Art, Career Based Intervention, Physical Education, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Foreign Language Exploratory, Computers, Family and Consumer Science and Gateway to Technology.

All student are encouraged to become involved in extracurricular activities. We offer a full slate of athletics, Youth-to-Youth, 100% Club, Honor Roll, National Junior Honor Society and Student Council.

Jefferson welcomes parents and the community to visit our school by scheduling an appointment. Staff members are available for conferences 7:45 - 8:15 AM and during their planning period. Please call 419-473-8482.
